If you have not yet exchanged contact numbers with this person and he or she is still contacting you through the cell phone dating service, then the service may be able to help.

If you had already exchanged contact information with this person, and he or she is sending the romantic text messages directly to your cell phone, try contacting your mobile phone service provider. They may be able to do something to block this persons text messages and phone calls.

If the romantic text messages at any time become at all threatening, you should consider filing a police report. It is especially important to go to the police if this person knows where you live, work, or regularly hang out. Just by having the police let this person know they have been contacted may stop the text messaging.

If all else fails and you are unable to get any help with these unwanted romantic text messages, you may want to consider changing your phone number. As this can be somewhat of a hassle, you would only want to consider this if the text messages were becoming completely out of hand or threatening.

Always remember that if the person already knows enough about you, especially if he or she knows where you live, then simply changing your number does not mean you are completely safe. This is why it is always a good idea to let the local authorities know about the problem.
