Air out your radiator – Air can get caught in your radiator and cause it not to operate as good as it should but if you release air from them, also known as bleeding, this will make your radiator heat your house better.
Use Insulation – If you insulate your house this will decrease the heating charges on your bill and give you lasting benefits. Many areas of your house can be insulated such as your walls, roof, and windows. You can put up heavy draperies and place material at the bottom of the door to prevent drafts.
Get an A-grade appliance – When your purchase a new refrigerator, freezer or boiler, make sure you get one that is rated "A". This will help your electric bills be more reasonable because it cost little to operate these appliances as well as it benefits the environment.
Go high tech – A lot of items exist that will protect the earth and keep some money in your pocket also. There are various items such as washing powder substitutes and devices that prevent a refrigerator from working too hard and overusing electricity. You can also buy wind up radios, water powered clocks and lights that use solar energy.
Change your energy company If you change to a different company there are special offers available to new customers and you can "go green" also. The majority of the energy companies are concerned about the environment and you can use natural sources of energy while you have cheaper bills.
