Siam Square is one of the South-East Asia’s most popular shopping destinations, situated in the Pathumwan District, in the heart of Bangkok – the capital city of Thailand. A good number of restaurants can also be found here. Further, the top floors of the Siam Discovery Center features the Grand EGV, which consists of seven theaters, of which are five are deluxe cinemas with seating arranged in a stadium style. The other two are Gold Class theatres, with a capacity to seat up to 40 people.

Earlier known as the World Trade Center and located within a 550,000 square-meters retail space, Central World Plaza contains more than 500 outlets, about 50 restaurants, and over 20 cinemas, plus a bowling hall, Kids’ Zone, and Learning Centre.
Opening its door in 2005, the Siam Paragon is must-see for shopping enthusiasts. It is home to the Siam Ocean World aquarium – the largest of its kind in South-East Asia. It also contains a continuum of stores and eateries. Also, found here is a multiplex movie theater. Shopping complexes in and around Siam Square also include Pantip Plaza, The Emporium, and the Pratunam Market.
Apart from these, Siam Square has a street market that exclusively specializes in designer clothing and fashion accessories. This area is much sought after among college students and teenagers. Above all, Siam Square is highly popular for its trio movie theaters, such as Scala – the oldest single screen theater in the city; Lido – a multiplex of three cinemas, where foreign cinemas are played that can not be seen anywhere else in Bangkok; and Siam, which is a segment of the Apex chain and owns and controls the Scala and Lido.
With these scores of entertainment and shopping facilities, it is not a wonder why Siam Square has been acknowledged as the “Shopping Mecca of Bangkok.
