If you have children, than the chances of you having stuffed animals lying around all over your house are quite high. Toddlers and young children love their stuffed animals. They will keep it with them for as long as they can; even if the stuffed animal is beaten up and dirty, if it is a favorite toy or favorite blanket substitute, your child will be very attached to this inanimate object. No doubt, you want your children to have clean toys and clean stuffed animals. If you need some help with ideas on how to keep these stuffed animals that are precious in the eyes of your children clean, we are here to help. Here are just a few tips that you could use for cleaning stuffed animals as well as other plush toys.

Using Water is a BIG No No

Alright, let us start off with what you do not do. One thing that can be a mistake when it comes to cleaning stuffed animals is using water or other liquid cleaners. Cleaning stuffed animals with water or liquid agents is just like cleaning a pillow with water and liquids: You just do not do it! The reason is because pillows as well as stuffed animals do absorb liquids rather well. The contents of these items are so thick that you will have a problem drying them. Also, drying them can take such a long time that you may start a problem with mold. No one likes a moldy pillow or stuffed animal, right? So, as much as it is remotely possible, avoid cleaning stuffed animals with liquids.

The Power of Suction and Vacuum Cleaners

One cleaning accessory that is very usable in cleaning stuffed animals is your vacuum cleaner. If you have a small detachable nozzle, then you can use this attachment to suck off dirt and small particles on your stuffed animals. Just be sure that the stuffed animal is not so small where it will be entirely sucked into the vacuum. Also, be sure that the attachment itself is clean and free from dust before you apply it onto the stuffed animals.

Lint Rollers and Tape

If you have got small particles on those stuffed animals, you can use a lint roller to get all of these isty bitsy unwanted particles off of them. Lint rollers safely take the lint and other tiny stuff off of your nice clothes, so they will be safe to use on most stuffed animals also. If you do not have a lint roller, than you can use some tape as a substitute. Just take the tape and pat the stuffed animal with the sticky side. The stickiness of the tape should work well to remove small particles.

So, do not use water or liquids, do use vacuum cleaners, and a have a roll with a lint roller and some tape. These were just a few things you could apply to help you to keep those stuffed animals nice and clean.
