Snow Or Frozen Water Can Cause Damage Too

Here we are again in the first part of the winter snow season, and it hit like a lion that had landed in a big pool of water. This storm that hit dropped 13 inches of white water on upstate New York and caused a lot of damage to trees, as this snow was so heavy that it caused these trees to have their limbs break from all of the weight. They fell on the power lines causing more than 40,000 customers without electric.

They were hit with 13 inches in northern New York with 15 inches reported in the mountain regions. Then there was 14 inches reported in New Jersey's High Point State Part, with Pennsylvania, Pocono Mountains under a foot of snow. There has been snow as far down as West Virginia and North Carolina where in these states up in the mountain regions, a couple of schools were closed because of receiving 6 inches or less of snow.

Our winter is now upon us, and the weather will start getting worse because where there is snow, there is usually freezing rain that will make the roads very dangerous to be on. These slippery roads will cause motorists to have accidents. Even people on foot can fall and cause damage to their bodies, such as breaking an arm or leg while trying to walk over icy sidewalks or roads.

When bad weather is called for, we really should listen and think before doing something that can cause us pain. We really just need to stay off the roads, stay in our homes where we can be safe from the other people that don't listen, and be warm instead of maybe being in an accident where you might be stranded for a while if you are somewhere that is far from help's reach.

If you should wake up in the morning to no lights or heat, you will need to make sure that everyone stays warm by a couple of different ways. You might want to put on as many clothes on as you can to cover your hands and fingers and also your feet and toes. If you have a fireplace, you will definitely want to light it up so you can stay warm by the fire. If you don't have a fireplace, some people or housing apartments might have a back-up generator that will keep you in power for a while.
