That is where a lot of them hit. This is a fact! If it hits water, it will send electrical currents through it and if you are in it, you will get shocked and it can kill you. You need to have insurance that covers lightning because it can cause a fire to your home, and it will damage a lot of things or everything you have. It can cause structural damage and can damage your electrical equipment. Lightning can cause power surges so make sure you unplug all of your stuff so it will no ruin it. If you do not already have one, then purchase a multiple plug power outlet with surge protector so your appliances and electronics won't be damaged. So watch out for lightning and stay in your house where it is safe.
