Postcard Printing Paralysis

"Are you stuck with some serious postcard printing problems? Wondering where to turn or how to proceed? Many businesses reach this point in the decision-making process for postcards, so do not feel too badly. Postcard printers and mailers are an important marketing tool that enables you to reach customers where other types of advertising cannot. If you have hit ""printer's block"" and are feeling a bit stuck, review these tips to make sure you have covered your bases:

• Get your brand in front of the customer - Do not miss the opportunity to expose your customers to your brand through your logo and any other branding tools you may use.

• Highlights only please - Do not put too much information on a postcard. Use a postcard to grab the customer's attention and give them just enough information that they know what you are presenting, but not so much that they are inundated with data.

• Keep it simple - There is a time and place for unique designs and shapes, but do not think too hard about these ideas with postcards. Standard post cards are 4 x 6 through 6 x 9. Anything bigger or smaller becomes something other than a postcard to the customer.

• Remember where they look - Basic layout theory suggests that a consumer looks at the picture, the title, the caption(s), THEN the content. Make sure you have each of these components and are using the layout to tell a story.

• Keep it classy - Glossy photos on a heavy (14 pt.) stock should give you beautiful results on the front of the card for any pictures and illustrations you are using.

• Flashy on the front, basic on the back - Use the front to grab a customer's attention and the back of the card to fill in the details. Again, do not put too much information here, but enough so that they can find out more or at least contact you.
