Plan Your First Impression

When it comes to most things in life you don’t have that much control over the first impression that you make on a person.

You do everything you can to plan ahead in order to be sure your first impressions are good ones. You dress as nicely as you can, make sure you always have business cards on you to hand out if you need to, or make other little details, such as planning out what you intend to say and so on.

But there’s always going to be an element of surprise when dealing with a meeting between two people, and always room for things to go wrong.

With other areas of business you have even more control in what people are presented with, which includes when you need to actually give a presentation to people.

It can be a scary thing, especially if you need to present your material in front of a large group. You want everything to be perfect and you’ll be worried about even the smallest thing going wrong.

Well, one thing that should help ease your mind is that a good first impression when it comes to a presentation can do wonders to set the tone for the entire project.

It’s amazing how effective starting things off on the right foot can be to make people willing to listen to you and give you their undivided attention, and what else could you ask for when giving your presentation?

So how do you set things off on the right foot?

With most presentations I’ve been to people began things by handing out a packet of all of the various details they plan on covering. This will include a few charts, graphs, and other reports detailing what you’re going to go over.

This is technically the very first impression you’re going to make on people. Are you bothering with presentation folder printing before getting your material worked out? The point is to get a nice package for your material to be in when you hand it out to people. Be sure that whatever images are on the cover of your folder are a reflection of material about to be presented.

As soon as people lay eyes on the folder itself they’ll be intrigued by what it contains, and that very interest helps to alter how they’re going to view what they receive inside. From that point forward they’ll be looking at you in a slightly different light, already aware you know what you’re doing and you know how to organize your information.

It isn’t as if presentation folder printing is particularly expensive either, meaning you have no reason to pass it up. You were going to need to have your material in a folder anyways, so make sure that folder is as nice as possible.

You have control over this first impression, so there’s no reason to have it be anything but great.
